What is Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedium 800 ml?

Oase Hel-X 13 Biomedium is a biological filter material which ensures clear, healthy water and stable water value in the aquarium. Hel-X 13 has a total area of 955 m²/m³ and a total protected area of 806 m²/m³. This mechanical and highly effective biological filtration ensures a good breakdown of food and fish waste to create a much healthier and clearer environment for your fish.
It is designed for all types BioMaster filters of the brand Oase. It fits exactly in the baskets of the pumps and is therefore easy to replace. Of course it is also possible to use it in other filters than the brand Oase or to use it as a static bed filter.

Hel-X 13 Biomedium has been revised by Oase engineers to increase the biological settlement area by an additional 13% compared to the previous Hel-X Biomedium. Hel-X 13 is white and has a special geometry. The inside consists of individual star-shaped housings that allow beneficial aerobic bacteria to colonize and reproduce in the protected housings.

When the white bio-rings are ripe they will turn brown in color.

How can I use the Hel-X 13 Biomedium?

The Hel-X 13 is perfect to use in the filter types: BioMaster 250, BioMaster 350, BioMaster 600 and BioMaster 850. Also, it fits in the filters with “HeatUp” heaters: BioMaster 250 Thermo, BioMaster 350 Thermo, BioMaster 600 Thermo and BioMaster 850 Thermo.

For the best use, we advice to place always a sponge/mousses in the basket behind the Hel-X 13. So that the broken down proteins will collect in the sponge or in the mousses and not come back to the aquarium.
