Description

Manaus Cypricil is a worming treatment for coldwater fish, goldfish (e.g. lionhead and veiltail) and koi – effective against parasitic worms such as skin flukes and gill flukes (including Dactylogyrus) and tapeworms (Cestodes).

Similar to the successful mechanism of action of Manaus Bilocil, Cypricil offers an effective approach to the control of worms in coldwater fish. Manaus Cypricil effectively eradicates tapeworms (Cestodes) and other intestinal trematodes (complete elimination of the pathogens). The antiseptic properties of Cypricil support wound healing in coldwater fish, which is essential because healing in cold water is slower, for example in infections caused by skin worms (Monogenea).

Cypricil does not cause discolouration or clouding (bacterial bloom) of the water.

The main advantages of Manaus Bilocil:

  • Effective treatment against a broad spectrum of worms in coldwater fish:
Cypricil successfully controls egg-laying Dactylogyrus species, trematodes in the fish intestine, as well as tapeworms commonly found in goldfish and koi.
  • Specially developed for cold water fish:
the formula is tailored to the physiology of goldfish, koi and other cold water loving species.
  • Good tolerance for cold water fish:
Cypricil is generally well tolerated by most coldwater fish at the correct dosage.
  • Fast therapeutic success:
many users see a rapid improvement in symptoms after treating the worm infection.
  • Easy to dose and apply:
with the clear instructions it is easy to determine the correct dosage and administer the medicine in your aquarium or pond.

Signs and symptoms of worms:

Indications of an infestation with parasites such as skin worms or gill worms include, for example:

  • Rubbing/scraping against objects or the ground:
this could indicate irritation from worms and trying to scrape the worms off the skin.
  • Spitting or yawning movements with the mouth:
may indicate irritation in the gills.
  • Rapid breathing and gasping for air at the surface:
this may indicate irritation of the gills by parasites.
  • Increased mucus production on the skin.
  • Squeeze the fins together.
  • Listlessness and decreased activity:
    become slower in movement.
  • Weight loss:
    stop eating.
  • Bloody spots or red veins on the fins or skin.

When recognizing the above symptoms, it is important to treat the fish quickly to prevent further weakening of the animals by the parasites. If possible, confirm the diagnosis with the aid of microscopic examination.

Dosage and use

Standard dosage for gill flukes (Dactylogyrus sp.) and intestinal worms such as tapeworms and fluke worms (Cestodes and digene trematodes):
Preparation: it is recommended to perform a 50% water change on day 1, before starting the treatment.
1st day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
After 8 days the treatment is complete, large water change of at least 50%. It is not necessary to change water between treatment days.

Standard dosage for skin worms (Gyrodactylus sp.) a single treatment with Manaus Cypricil is sufficient. In this case you should dose as follows:
Preparation: it is recommended to perform a 50% water change on day 1, before starting the treatment.
1st day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium- or pond water.
A water change can take place from the 2nd day after the treatment.

Important:

  • Ensure adequate aeration and water flow during the treatment, especially in ponds.
  • The water temperature should remain stable during treatment and within the range appropriate for the cold water fish in question.
  • The filter must remain switched on during treatment.
  • Calculate the exact volume of your pond or aquarium (water only).
  • Measure out the correct amount using the measuring cap provided.
  • Do not overdose!
  • Turn off UV- and ozone devices, as they can affect the effectiveness of the medicine.
  • Remove activated carbon, nitrate resin and zeolite from the filter during the treatment, as these can affect the effectiveness of the medication.
  • The water quality must be good before using this product. It is advisable to change 20 – 25% of the water every week and to regularly vacuum the bottom.

*Always consult the product leaflet before use.
