Manaus Bilocil

Description

Manaus Bilocil is a highly effective aquarium medicine against various parasitic worms, such as skin- and gillworms (Monogenea) and tapeworms (Cestodes) in adult cichlids (including discus fish), live-bearing toothcarps, labyrinth fish and other cyprinids. The active ingredients are Rafoxanide and Praziquantel.

This powerful formula helps your fish recover from worm infestation and also has a reducing effect on intestinal flagellates during the treatment. It is generally well tolerated by many tropical fish and crustaceans, such as shrimp. However, be careful with young fish (< 3 months), armored catfish (Loricariidae) and armored catfish (Corydoras); use Manaus Bilocil Sensitive for them.

Signs and symptoms of worms:

Indications of an infestation with parasites such as skin worms or gill worms include, for example:

• Rubbing/scratching against objects or the bottom of the aquarium:
  this can indicate irritation by worms.
• Unilateral breathing:
  only one gill cover moves.
• Spitting or yawning movements with the mouth:
  may indicate irritation in the gills.
• Loss of appetite:
  this often occurs in a later stage of the infection
• Weight loss:
  despite normal or even increased appetite.
• Pinch the fins.
• Jerky or startled movements:
  is often a reaction to irritation

When recognizing the above symptoms, it is important to treat the fish quickly to prevent further weakening of the animals by the parasites. If possible, confirm the diagnosis with the aid of microscopic examination.

Dosage and use

Standard dosage for gill worms (Dactylogyrus sp.) and intestinal worms such as tapeworms and fluke worms (Cestodes and digene trematodes):
Preparation: it is recommended to perform a 50% water change on day 1, before starting the treatment.
1^st day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
3^rd day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
5^th day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
After 7 days the treatment is complete, large water change of at least 50%. It is not necessary to change water between treatment days.

Standard dosage for skin worms (Gyrodactylus sp.) a single treatment with Bilocil is sufficient. In this case you should dose as follows:
Preparation: it is recommended to perform a 50% water change on day 1, before starting the treatment.
1^st day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
A water change can take place from the 2nd day after the treatment.

Important:

• During the treatment, the aquarium filter must remain switched on.
• Calculate the exact volume of your aquarium (water only).
• Measure out the correct amount using the measuring cap provided.
• Do not overdose!
• Remove activated carbon or nitrate resin from the filter during the treatment, as these can affect the effectiveness of the medication.
• Ensure sufficient aeration of the aquarium during the treatment.
• The water quality must be good before using this product. It is advisable to change 20 – 25% of the water every week and to regularly vacuum the bottom.

Storage instructions

Store Manaus Bilocil frost-free and in a cool, dark and dry place in the original packaging. It is possible to use opened bottles until they are empty (but not after the expiration date).
